During the past few years, the number of race tracks available for drivers in the Province of Québec has increased significantly. Thus, tracks such as Icar, St-Eustache, Sanair and Le circuit Mont-Tremblant are accessible in a two-hour radius for car racing or simply for friendly driving in high performance cars that are not intended to be driven on Quebec roads. If we look at a greater radius (6-8 hours), other tracks like Calabogie, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock and others can be added our list.

Some of those race tracks have also created their own clubs to increase their revenues. These factors bring us great track time opportunities. In the same way, it is possible to participate in all sorts of track events such as Auto-Slalom, HPDE, Time Attack and Club races.

But how can one choose the right events? That was how the Lapping section of “Le Groupe Virages” was born.

Through our race club expertise and all of those track opportunities that we have considered, we can  help you make the right selection of offers that are out there.

Partnership with Circuit Icar icar_logo_bk_smv1

Moreover, we have reached an agreement that makes ICAR the official partner of Le Club Virages. Indeed, ICAR will be home base for le Groupe Virages and will host both our preventive and performance driving education.

Please note that the ICAR race track will be modified in 2011 in order to make driving faster and smoother. Not to mention that it is recognized as the best track to improve one’s driving technique and have plenty of fun near Montreal!

To make this agreement official, ICAR makes a highly interesting offer to all Club Virages members: a privilege membership card with specific advantages. With this membership card you will benefit from a five-day access to the track or half-days on Wednesdays instead. This last option makes the deal interesting for those of you who would like to go lapping almost every Wednesday this coming summer.

It is my intention to make it a happening and we will meet every Wednesday. I have already taken my privilege membership card for 2011.

Reciprocity agreement with BMW Québec, CADL, ASE Lapping club and Track & Time

We have also concluded a reciprocity agreement with Le Club Autosport des Laurentides (CADL) which will allow our members to participate in their Auto-Slalom and Time Attack events at their members’ cost. In the same manner, CADL members will be able to join us in our Club events at our members’ cost. The same holds true for BMW Quebec events.

Another agreement will allow us to participate in Lapping events organized by the ASE Lapping club at the St-Eustache, Mosport and Calabogie race tracks. It should be noted that the St-Eustache race track was re-paved recently and that it represents a highly technical track that is great to improve driving techniques near Montreal. Lots of fun ahead!
