The Porsche Club of America (PCA) car club has been in operation for many years and has such offers many High Performance Driving Education (HPDE) events all around North America. Their events are really about learning how to drive and the structure offers a good place for a novice driver to learn High Performance driving in a safe and controlled environment.

On the other hand since it says Porsche, they don't accept cars from any other manufacturer in their events.

The day

The normal day usually starts with a registration where you'll sign a waiver and be given a bracelet. Then you'll go for a final car check up (You have to bring your car at a garage before to get a tech inspection on your car!).

Then, there will be a drivers meeting explaining the proper procedure for passing and different other important points.

After that you'll go to you parking spot and wait for the proper run group to go on track. There is normally 4 groups (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Instructors).

The run groups have 4 sessions a day of approximately 30 minutes.

The novice group have a full time instructor with them.

The requirements

The car has to be in good condition and go through a technical inspection by a mechanic before the event. Usually a car deemed safe to drive on the road, is safe to drive on the track!

The driver has to wear long clothing and a helmet on the track.

There has to be a fire extinguisher safely mounted in the car.
